Michael Williamson Obituary

WILLIAMSON
Michael Joseph Williamson, age 63 from Marietta, GA, passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2018.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Williamson, and their 3 beautiful daughters: Michelle Williamson; Kimberly Callicoat, her husband Larry, and two grandsons, Cole and Aaron; Andrea Williamson, her husband Gabriel, and future grandchild "baby Tarzan."

Mike was born on a military base in Asmara, Eritrea, Ethiopia. He grew up in Daytona Beach where he found his love for swimming, surfing, and lifeguarding. He attended the University of Florida where he earned his MBA and became an avid Gator fan. He began his career in finance at Barnett Bank in Florida and continued working at several banks until he retired. Mike and Susan loved welcoming family and friends into their Atlanta home on the Chattahoochee River. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, skeet shooting, and hiking. He was happiest sitting on his back porch with a cigar and bourbon surrounded by his loved ones. Mike celebrated life to the fullest and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Mike is also survived by his sister Linda and her husband Doug; brother Steve and his wife Amy; sister-in-law Pam; brother-in-law Bill; sister-in-law Donna and her husband Bobby. In addition, he was also delighted to have several nieces and nephews across generations: Jennie, TR, Josie and Charlie Hileman; Joyce, Ruger, Brayden and Lindslie Lewis; Justin Lienau; Mitchell, Sam, Jackson and Cooper Lienau. He is preceded in death by his mother Joyce Williamson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 19th in Jacksonville, FL. It will be hosted by Jerry and Biggs Knauer at 1 p.m. in their home at 4141 Ortega Blvd.

What a fine man and friend. My son and I had just reminisced about the great times we had at Mike's home for SEC championships in the glory days and how we hope the new regime might bring those days back. Nobody enjoyed Gator Glory more than Mike. He is missed. My thoughts are with wonderful wife and his beautiful daughters.

I will miss the fellowship I had with Mike. The pheasant hunts we shared are moments in time that created lifelong memories. Those great memories will live on. It is an honor to have become friends with Mike. The last time I was with Mike, we shared prayer and praised the word of God.
