In Faith
There are lots of things I have
In this world below.
Things that I can measure
I can see, I can know.
Golden treasures, a pet's warm fur
Forests tall and green.
But the things that matter most to me
Are things that are unseen.
Anything that truly lasts
Is neither bought nor sold.
These things you cannot measure
Cannot touch, cannot hold.
What are these things, how are they real
How can they really be?
These greatest gifts are all the things
That faith has shown to me.
It is faith that keeps me walking
Thru the dark when it is night.
Faith that lets me know that if I wait
There will be light.
Faith that caused me to accept
The gift that Christ's blood bought.
Faith that changed my life and gave
Salvation that I sought.
And faith that gives me courage
When my life is filled with pain.
Faith that when I live with Christ
To die with him is gain.
Faith that lets me know my Father
Looks on me with love.
Faith that tells me my true home
Is with Him up above.
My life on earth is brief

My deepest condolences to you Rose, Scott, & Brent. He was like a second father to all of us from South-Young and made lasting impressions on us that have made us who we are today. He will certainly be missed.

Scott i remember when i went to south young (freshman year) i had your dad as my homeroom teacher and i was like excuse me sir but i think i know your son and he was like how do you know him and i told him that i basically grew up with you at mt. olive and doyle he smiled and said yep you do know my son. he was so proud of you he would make comments in class regularly like when you all would play football against each other you would go over game plays you wouldnt let him know which ones cause you were on opposite sides for th doyle / south young game and he said that showed dedication that you would study that way for your studies as well as the game. i enjoyed the first part of the day cause he had a smile and a great sense of humor every morning

May God bless each of you and grant you peace. My prayers and sympathies are with you. I just this day was made aware of Mike's passing. I recall fondly Mike's arrival at UT and at East Stadium Hall. He wasn't the biggest of us linemen. but he had the heart of a giant. We sort of lost touch after my graduation and entry in the U.S Navy, until my retirement and return to South Knoxville. You will be sorely missed my friend. I wish you fair winds and following seas.

Rose, Scott, and always my brother Spank,
I just want to offer my deepest sympathy to you all. I would say family but I feel I am part of your family as you all and Mike have always made me feel such. After the service and speaking with you all today it is a comfort knowing that he is suffering no more and in a better place. I first met Coach LaSorsa as a freshman in high school, and even all these years later the memory of how he cared for his students stays with me. To a freshman in high school that means a lot. I see all the entries in this guest book, and it amazes me how one person can touch the lives of so many people all across the United States. His class was always one of my favorites and he was most definitely a favorite teacher of mine. I leaned lots of history and he taught me my first CPR and first aid class. He was a wonderful man!

I wasn't much of a player when I was at Fulton, but Coach LaSorsa tried his best to change that. He was a terrific coach and builder of character, for myself and many others before and after. A decade later I was fortunate enough to work with Rose at the Sheriff's Office for a handful of years and we shared some stories about Mike. Rose & family, my sincerest condolences on your loss. I hope your faith, family and friends help to see you through this painful time.

Mike LaSorsa was one of the finest men that I have ever known. I had the pleasure of knowing Mike as a coach, teacher, and friend. He was a man you could always count on as a friend. Mike was an outstanding Educator and Coach. He truely loved young people. Mike had a great impact on many young people through out Knox County.
