Thousand Oaks, CA
On Friday, November 23rd, 2018, Mike Blu Brooks, loving husband and father, passed away at the age of 46. Mike was born on December 22, 1971, in Los Angeles, CA to Larry Jay Brooks and Jacqueline Renee Feinstein. He grew up in Van Nuys and attended James Monroe High School. Mike began his career in the entertainment industry, working the back-lots of Hollywood, culminating as the youngest construction coordinator at Paramount Studios for the CBS hit NCIS: Los Angeles. He would spend over 28 years in the industry. In 1997 he married Kim Purvee. Mike and Kim moved to Thousand Oaks in 2003 where they welcomed the apple of Mike's eye, their daughter Mia Rose, to their new home.
Mike was a true craftsman and meticulous in his work. He had a great passion for people and had a profound impact on those who were lucky enough to call him a friend. A California kid, Mike loved the outdoors and enjoyed surfing, wake-surfing, snowboarding, and riding his off-road vehicles. He was also a die-hard fan of all things L.A., whether it was attending this year's World Series to root for his beloved Dodgers, pounding the plastic partition cheering his Kings or screaming with joy when the Lakers brought home a win. When not enthralled in his passions, he liked to spend quiet time with his family watching movies and TV. Mike was so quick to give of himself to those who knew him. Whether it was building something unique and special for a close friend/relative or keeping an eye on an elderly neighbor. Those blessed to have known Mike will remember his wily smile and heart of gold, always quick with a musing story as much as he was with a helpful hand.
The City of Angels has lost one of its best but heaven was made a bit brighter by the light of a generous soul.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Feinstein Brooks. Mike is survived by: his wife Kim, daughter Mia, father Larry Brooks of AZ, sister and brother-in-law Rayann and Ismael Delosangeles of TX, and eight nieces.

Services will be held at 10 am, Saturday, December 8, 2018. Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks, Westlake Village, CA.

Mike was one of a kind . I watched him grow into a loving devoted husband and father. He was a wonderful son to my brother in law and sister and a wonderful grandson to my parents as well as his father's parents. Mike was an angel when he was here. He was my number one nephew. My family and his friends all miss him dearly. But now he's with his mom both sets of grandparents in heaven watching over us all. There hasn't been a day nor will there ever be that he won't be on our minds or in our hearts. He will be forever missed by all . God took him to soon but he must have had some kind of plan.
