East Lyme - The world is diminished after the loss of Milan Keser. Over the last few days, it has become apparent that he was many things to many people who will miss him deeply. Not sure what to say?

I cannot believe it has been 5 years. He was such a strong man in all ways. His soccer playing was utterly remarkable. Miss him.

I worked with Milan for over 10 years. He was a very special man. I didn't always agree with him ...but I did most of the time and always appreciated his av. And, I always appreciated availability, sincerity and, I believe honesty.

He was a man who truly wanted to improve the world and the human condition. He did that through the sciences and his true passion ,,,soccer.

I am proud to have known Milan and consider him a friend of mine ,,,and humanity.

I hope to see you...

Very sorry to hear of Milan's passing. He was a gentleman in the Soccer boardroom and always showed how much he loved the kids.

I was particularly impressed by his care for the TOPSoccer athletes. He has raised the bar for all of us.

A kind man, a brilliant person, a gentle soul.

My sincere condolences.

Fantastic, strong man. I shall miss him deeply. A great friend of the family.

I first knew Milan as my soccer coach in the summer of 1979. He took a team that had a hard time winning a game and made us into champions. He had faith in his players and inspired us to be great. He then asked us to give back to the game of soccer by becoming coaches and several of us did just that. He was a great coach, a great inspiration and a great American.

I first met Milan when working with him on parts of the Connecticut River Ecological Study (revisited). I had many interactions with him while doing other scientific work related to the Niantic River, and the Long Island Sound Study Science and Technical Advisory Committee. I particularly always looked forward to discussions we would have on the ferry ride to Long Island for those meetings. No matter what, he would always want to know what I was doing and had a genuine interest in the work...

Milan was an amazing individual who had a heart of gold and the spirit of a tiger. I had the pleasure of working with Milan for many years. He had an uncanny nack of drawing you in to help. I met milan at a soccer match for my young daughters over 20 years ago Before I knew it I was coaching at various levels had three coaching licenses , helping at the club and district level, refereeing matches setting up snack bars to help pay for uniforms and finally helping him coach the girls high...

I will certainly miss the conversations I have had with Milan before and after Friday seminars in the Department of Marine Sciences. He will certainly be remembered.

I will miss his warmth and his lively discussions of Long Island Sound issues. My deepest condolences to his family. He will be missed by his scientific colleagues.
