Mildred F. Fabin, 89, of Monongahela, formerly of New Eagle, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in the Monongahela Valley Hospital. She was born April 24, 1926 in Crookham, the daughter of Paul and Catherine Petrosky Plinta.
Mildred was a 1944 graduate of Monongahela High School and a member of St. Damien of Molokai Parish in Monongahela. After her husband John passed away, she volunteered at the Center in the Woods in Brownsville, working in the kitchen, helping with dances and bake sales or wherever her assistance was needed. Since December 2012, she resided at the Residence at Hilltop, a place she truly enjoyed being. She especially liked to play cards, bingo and socialize with her friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Kuppelweiser and husband Rich of Carroll Township; son, John Fabin and wife Kathy of Driftwood; three grandchildren, Katie L. Grosvenor and husband Alexander, Brian M. Kuppelweiser and girlfriend Cassie Stewart, Jason J. Fabin; brother, Paul Plinta of New Eagle; sister, Marcella Novak of Canonsburg; three sisters-in-law, Irene Popovich of Scenery Hill, Shirley Fabin of New Eagle, Janet Plinta of Pittsburgh; brother-in-law, Steve Fabin and wife Ann of Eighty Four; many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Fabin who died August 14, 2001; sister, Pauline Williams; two brothers, Charles Plinta and James Plinta, who died in infancy.
Friends will be received on Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 2-8 PM in the Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 West Main Street, Monongahela. Funeral prayers will begin on Monday, September 14, 2015 at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:00 AM in St. Damien of Molokai Parish with the Rev. William Terza, pastor as celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow in the Monongahela Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Center in the Woods, 130 Woodland Court, Brownsville, PA 15417.

Millie was a dear friend of my mother, Mary Fisher, at Hilltop. Mom will miss her at the bingos and card games. Our family's deepest condolences to her family. Mille truly was a wonderful soul.
