We are wrapping Mildred's family and friends in love, light and prayers. It was a pleasure to meet her years ago while visiting our Cousins Dr. Elaine Johnson Copeland and Dr. Robert Copeland in Champaign, Illinois. We will forever cherish our memory of her . Belinda M. Stinson-Head, PhD & Julius L. Head

In loving memories of Dr. Mildred Barnes Griggs. My condolences to her wonderful family and friends. Remembering our connection at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I enjoyed housesitting with the sons as she and Al attended their professional conferences. She stayed in contact and never met a stranger. Blessings forever . -- Jesse J Hargrove, Ph.D.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. My heart is so sad. I considered Mildred my very best friend We shared the same birthday March the 11.She was born in1942 and I was born march 11,1943.She was a kind, generous and caring person and work to serve all of humanity She wiil be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mildred was an amazing lady! Always thinking about helping and mentoring students. Worked with her at the U of I and felt she was a friend along with being my boss! Admire the fact that after retiring from the U of I that she became a lawyer and did pro bono work for many who needed her help.
