Mildred Griggs Obituary
CHAMPAIGN - Mildred Barnes Griggs, 83, of Marianna, Ark., formerly of Champaign, died Monday, July 28, 2025.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday, Aug. 18, at the I Hotel and Illinois Conference Center in Champaign. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the service will start at 5:30 p.m. The service will also be streamed at go.ihotelcu.com/MG-Zoom with meeting ID 836-0305-8820 and passcode 534595.

I enjoyed housesitting with the sons as she and Al attended their professional conferences. She stayed in contact and never met a stranger. Blessings forever .

I considered Mildred my very best friend We shared the same birthday March the 11.She was born in1942 and I was born march 11,1943.She was a kind, generous and caring person and work to serve all of humanity She wiil be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mildred was an amazing lady! Always thinking about helping and mentoring students. Worked with her at the U of I and felt she was a friend along with being my boss! Admire the fact that after retiring from the U of I that she became a lawyer and did pro bono work for many who needed her help.

Mildred and I were both friends and members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority , Inc. I was so sorry to hear of her passing. We talked about an hour a few days prior to her passing. I am grateful for reconnecting with her. I offer my condolences to her family.
