In researching an article in the Courier Journal I came upon Millicent's obituary. I too remember her as a sweet and loving child who lived next door to us on 47th street. We enjoyed many happy hours playing with Grey Boy. She was much younger than I but so smart and kind. It seems from what others write she grew to be the same kind of woman. I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember her as that wonderful child. Regina Furlong Lind

So sadden to hear of Millie's passing today when I called up to my old office in DC. This was so shocking I counted her as my friend one who I could go to & talk to when no one else was there for me working in DC. I will treasure the picture I took of her before I transferred to AL. Rest in Peace Millie...

My friend: A brilliant lady who was so generous towards me and an inspiration for me during a tough time. I first got to know Millicent through a mutual friend in the Fall of 2010. She helped me to keep pushing forward, to stay positive, and to keep my Faith in God strong. It was a blessing to hear her voice and to be encouraged by such a smart and accomplished lady. I wish I could have told her how much she has helped me. My prayers are with her and her family.

I met Millie when I started at Group VII in 2007. She had the purest heart of any person I have ever known; a genuine love for those around her. She would offer tips on vitamins and herbal medications if I was not feeling well and technical advice when I experienced computer issues. Her compassion and her brilliance were evident upon conversing with her. I am blessed to have known Millie and I will miss her dearly. My prayers are with her husband and entire family.

I worked with and learned from Millie for 2.5 years at the Apple Store in Pentagon City. She was a black woman that I could look up to and look to for guidance. I'm truly sorry for your abrupt loss

I have extraordinarily warm memories of Millicent as a child. I was her babysitter and neighbor for several years. She was a wonderful feisty child with great energy and curiosity. I was honored to be a small part of a warm and loving family and delighted to watch Millicent grow into such an outstanding woman. My very sincere condolences are extended to the family and in particular to Millicent's mother who remains among my most treasured images. This is a heartbreaking loss.

My sympathies to Millicent's family on their loss. I had the pleasure of interviewing Millicent for a job with Navy General Counsel when she was a student at Georgetown Law. I was very impressed with her, and was delighted to learn that the Navy agreed with my assessment of her and hired her as an attorney. She was a terrific attorney and I was honored to be her friend.
