Minerva "Ann" Shaw was born September 23, 1944, in Lubbock, Texas, to Armond Sydney Hooks and Maggie Rosellen Wilkinson Hooks and went to her Heavenly home on December 19, 2023, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 4:00pm at Cherokee Cemetery with Brother Paul Chandler and Brother Madison Caffey officiating.
Ann was married to David Shaw on December 7,1964 in Gilmer, Texas and was a retired nurse.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Vicki Manchaca.
She is survived by her husband, David; brothers, Danny Hooks, Terry Hooks, Ronnie Hooks, and Steve Hooks; sisters, Carolyn Chaney, Deborah Wilson, Pam Milliorn and Tammie Shrewsbury; daughters, Lisa Spencer (husband Tom), Cathy Mullins (husband Chase), and Staci Shaw; grandchildren, Erin Spencer, Tommy Spencer (fiancé Emily), Kelsie Curtis (husband Derrick), Elizabeth Mullins, Andrew Mullins, Johnathon Elmore (wife Ashley) and Bradley Elmore; great grandchildren, Ira Curtis, Karra Curtis, Josie Elmore, Ryder Colvin, Carlee Jo Colvin and Maggie May Spencer (arriving March 2024.)
The family would like to extend our gratitude to Texas Oncology and Medical City-Dallas care teams.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
