Monica Jean Andrews

Andrews (Hoggay) Monica Jean Andrews, age 66, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 in Columbus, Ohio. She was born September 5, 1949 in Elgin, Illinois to Michael and Lorraine (Stoeckel) Hoggay. Monica was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She would tell you that she was very shy but that didn't stop her from being politically active, delivering Meals on Wheels, advocating for the world's poor, training staff in the Philippines and tutoring students after school. She loved Shakespeare and good mysteries - whether in book form or BBC miniseries. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Michele Krainik. Monica is survived by loving children, Katie (Mike) Beaumont and David (Karla) Andrews; beloved granddaughters, Emma Lou Andrews and Mia Beaumont; siblings, Marsha (Craig) McCanless, Mary (Bill) Hughes, Michael (Janet) Hoggay and Mark Hoggay; brother-in-law, Cliff Krainik; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. A celebration of life will take place Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 3-5 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road.
