I had Mr. Hardwick for metal shop 1 and 2 classes at Barrett Jr. HS from 1955- 1957. He was a great teacher. I and my family have gotton a lot of good use out of the iron forged tack hammer I made in his class with his help! He will be remembered for not his teaching but also his compassion.

Mr. Hardwick and I had the same initials. A fact which he enjoyed and liked passing things on to me with our initials on it. My favorite was a small leather keychain with MJH on it. I got to stay after school at Highland Middle for Shop Club with him in about 1989-1991

I first met Morris in his Industrial Arts class at Highland Middle school. His class was an impressive example for me. He gave me a whole list of techniques to manage my class which served me well.
Later on in retirement, we became friendly adversaries as we both bowled on different teams in The Louisville Teachers league.
"Morris, I know you are in a better place now" RIP
Asara and myselfwant to extend our most sincere sympathies to his family and loved ones, our prayers are with you.

I taught industrial arts in the Louisville School system, and Morris and I attended many meetings together. I enjoyed talking to him and share ideas.

My condolences to his family. I'm truly sad to hear this.
I had Mr. Hardwick for shop class at Atherton in the late 80's and he was my favorite teacher. I was a bit of a wild child but he was kind and patient with me, and showed me a level of trust no other adult did at the time. He allowed me to stay after school some and clean up shop for him.
I was just telling my son about him only a few days ago. I wish I'd been able to discover his whereabouts sooner to tell him what he meant to me.

Mr Hardwick was my metal shop teacher at Barrett. I like the first year shop so well that I signed up for the second year. He was a good teacher and very patient with some of the more difficult pupils.

I had Mr. Hardwick for metal class at Barrett back in the 80's. He was a great teacher. Very compassionate about teaching. We had some class clowns in our class and he was always working with them to get them on the right path. May he rest in peace.
