Myra Sheffield

1941 - 2025

Myra Lee Sheffield, 83, of Kings Mountain, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 16, 2025. Born on September 25, 1941, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, Myra was the daughter of the late Ernest Robinson and Florence Chapman. She was a proud 1961 graduate of Salem High School. Myra's greatest joy was found in making others happy, whether it was with a joke, a funny story, or a thoughtful gift. A loving wife (to the late Paul Robert Sheffield), mother and grandmother, she was never shy about sharing how proud she was of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a vibrant and adventurous spirit, enjoying a variety of hobbies from reading, drawing, and painting to being an active member of the local little theater community. Myra also had a love for motorcycles, traveling, white-water rafting, and music. Myra's memory will be cherished by her son, Robert Sheffield; her daughter, Bonny Setzer; five grandchildren, Shon Sheffield, Shannon Burke, Elizabeth King, Joshua Sheffield, and Jonas Setzer; and one great-grandchild, Elijah King. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Kirksey Funeral Home, 406 Lenoir Rd, Morganton, NC 28655. The family will receive friends for a visitation at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 11:55 a.m. Interment will follow the service at 2:30 p.m. at the Barrier Family Cemetery in the Jonas Ridge Community, Newland NC.
