Myrtle Buchanan Obituary

BUCHANAN, MRS. MYRTLE LENA - age 92 of Tazewell, TN was born December 6, 1915 and passed away November 6, 2008 at the Claiborne County Nursing Home. She was a lifelong member of Union Chapel Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to Arch Buchanan, Jr. May 10, 1933. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arch Buchanan, Jr.; parents, Harmon and Florence Winstead Essary; four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Ferguson Jennings and husband Ray Jennings; one grandson, Scott Ferguson; sister, Doris Essary all of Tazewell, TN; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell with funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Sunday night in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel. Graveside service 10:00 a.m. Monday in the Fairview Cemetery. Ministers: Rev. Bill Duncan and Rev. Frank Short. Singer: Barbara Hatfield. Pallbearers: Ronnie Essary, Roger Essary, Arnold Essary, Allen Pressnell, Ronnie Presnell, Dennis Bunch, Jeff Estes. Honorary pallbearers: members of the Union Chapel Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Union Chapel Baptist Church. Coffey Funeral Home in charge.
