I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Bird was my English Literature Professor at New River Community College in 1975 and 1976. I was seriously considering dropping out of school at the time I enrolled in my first class under Dr. Bird. She took an interest in my writing ability displayed in a journal project assignment, and called me into her office to discuss my future educational plans.
