Not sure what to say?

I was shocked when I read this obituary for dear Nancy. I worked under her at Social Science Research Council in the late 1970´s, when she was librarian, and I was an assistant. I would like you to know how much I admired her always. She and I sometimes shared a bran muffin for breakfast since we were both watching our figures. She brought in treats for the office but had great restraint. She had graciously given my baby daughter some infant toys when I visited her home in 1995. She took...

Nancy and I enjoyed many wonderful moments together -- from fun antiquing at Gettysburg to delightful parties to profound discussions of Shakespeare, Greek classics, and other literature in three book clubs. She was a wonderful friend, and I feel fortunate to have been in her circle.

Dear Family of Nancy McManus, We were very sad to hear of Nancy's passing. Her contributions to Pi Sigma Alpha's success were significant, and many of us remember her fondly. Several of our presidents/past presidents have provided comments on Nancy's contributions to Pi Sigma Alpha here: https://pisigmaalpha.org/remembering-nancy-mcmanus/. She will be missed.

To the Family of Nancy McManus, Nancy was a beautiful person. I met her at the ACHS conferences most of us shared friendships through this medium. She was a fair person and was always pleasant. She her thoughts and wore her feelings for all to see. Her aura was magnetic and I will never forget this classy erudite. Condolences to the Family. She will be greatly missed.

I love seeing Nancy's name on things I had posted on facebook. It turns up in memories at least once a week. She was so kind and thoughtful when my son died as I joined a club no one wants to join. I wish her family joy and comfort as they remember the good times and good things she did. Mary Ellen Brannigan Schattman

I had the pleasure of being in one of Nancy's book clubs. Her keen insight, intelligence, and appreciation of life - as portrayed in literature and from her own experience, enriched my understanding of our shared books, and my respect and admiration for her. It was a pleasure knowing Nancy.

Nancy was pure grace. As a young girl early in my career, Nancy mentored, amplified, and supported me with her warmth and intelligence. She encouraged me to stay curious and creative. Above all else, her motherhood inspired me. I am beyond lucky to have had the opportunity to have been in her orbit during such formative years of my life. Praying for the entire McManus family.

I am so sorry for your loss Mac and Lily and your entire family. Nancy was a wonderful human being who truly was a bright light in this world and a wonderful friend to all. I know my mom loved her very much. She will be sorely missed and my whole family sends our love. Sarah Blumberg (Judy´s oldest)

Dear Mac and Lily, I am Libby Stanley´s sister. Whenever I came to visit Libby and my mother, I would always try to see Nancy. She was one of those special people who make the world a brighter, better place, who even made me, a virtual stranger, feel included in her warmth. I feel so lucky for the limited time I spent in her sunlight. My heart goes out to you both, to the rest of her family, and to her many friends. We were all so very lucky. Sincerely, Helen L Freeman
