NANCY SAMUELSON Obituary
NANCY GAIL SAMUELSON
Nancy G. Samuelson, 59, of Arlington, passed away at home on July 28, 2013, after a long, brave battle against EDS. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Larry Young; sisters Judy Shapleigh (Jim), Robin Lasky (David); nephew Justin Shapleigh; nieces Alison Farley (Brandon), Carly and Jackie Lasky. She will be missed by her beloved cats. Nancy had been an intensive care nurse at Arlington Hospital, National Hospital for Orthopaedics and Doctors Hospital. She had degrees from ODU and The Catholic University. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 3, at 2 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington. Donations may be made to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington.

I've not seen Nancy since she was a freshman in our FCHS Band, & I was a sr. in the band. Who knew that we would both choose nursing as a career, & be intent "friends of animals," like we are. I wish I'd gotten to know her better, since HS, but I'll always remember her ready smile, & willingness to work hard, to make our HS band one of the best on the east coast. I'm sad to learn of Nancy's passing. While I didn't know her well, we were classmates at FCHS and shared band classes together. I wish peace and healing to all who loved her and grieve her loss.

Judy and Robin: My heart goes out to you both and your families. The last few years were really tough for not only her but everyone who loved her. I know that she was crazy about her sisters and neices and nephews. She always caught me up on the latest. She was loved and now we only pray that she has found peace.
