I was just at the calling hours with so many memories to share and such a cherished life to celebrate, but I found myself choked by what a loss the community has endured. My sincerest sympathies and condolences go out to the Steen family. Nathan had a kind heart and loved to make others smile. I'll miss him terribly as I'm sure will all those who knew him.

I would like to express my deepest sorrow for the Steen family and friends. Nathan was a wonderful person, musician, and friend. Though we had fallen out of contact over the years, learning of his loss is still terribly painful. May I offer my unwavering sorrow for those who are greiving and assurance that those in pain are in my prayers.

My years of teaching Nathan will always be with me. He was an asset to the band program as well as the Columbus Youth Jazz Orchestra. I enjoyed taking him on tours as well as teaching him one-on-one. I will miss him greatly. He truly had a great deal of musical talent.

Dear Steen Family,
Nathan and I met through the CYJO and I was lucky enough to perform with him in Montreux, Paris, and Amsterdam. I will always remember him as an amazing musician, with an incredible sense of wit, and a warm heart.
My sincere condolences in your time of grief.
