Not sure what to say?

Need Mackey was my cross country coach he was a good teacher and coach we were 1st in the city and third in state he will be missed

Mr. Mackey was a fun teacher but I was not a good student - Mr. Mackey my English has improved over the years. I have fond memories of you - you are da best!!!!!! Best wishes to your family

I recall Ned Mackey because he was the coach for cross country. The sport was challenging, to be sure, but under his direction I was motivated to push myself and do my best, to keep on going until I made it to the finish line.

Coach Mackey was the best teacher, the best role model anyone could have. I am lucky to have been guided by him.

I had the privilege of being taught by Mr. Mackey my sophomore year (1967-68) at Rincon HS. What a nice man and teacher that truly got to know each of his students! My heartfelt condolences to his family.

Ned Mackey was a beautiful human. I knew him as a track coach and my senior year English teacher at Rincon High, 1972. I didn't care much for school at the time and was generally doing poorly. At the same time, we read some great books in Mackey's class and a fire was lit. In my writing he saw something in me that I didn't see in myself, and he let me know in ways that only a nuanced thinker could. He set me on a path that changed my life. I carry Mackey's inspiration and share it in spades....

What a wonderful coach, teacher and role model. He inspired me to do my best in sports and with my academics. He truly believed in me which was important to me in my transition into young adulthood. I'm forever grateful.

My condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Mackey. He taught a love for reading and writing to escape from the woes of an uneasy childhood. I will forever remember him and put a lot of respect on his name. Love you Mr. Mackey rest in paradise. Gina Edwards -class of 1989

Mr. Mackey added so much to RHS. He touched many lives. He was a good man, good teacher, and good coach. All the best to his family. Lisa N. Class of 71
