Not sure what to say?

I didn't know Neil, Jr. personally but knew his father, Neil Sr., well. He was my first boss when I came to District 1 in 1954, fresh out of college. He taught me to be a highway designer which was a great start to my 41 year career ending in District 7. I'm sure Neil, Jr. was as proud as his Dad was of their contributions to the sucesses of the Division of Highways/Caltrans. Quite a family legacy!

He was a wonderful person and I am so glad I got to work with him and be a part of his life.

I met Neil in 1980 working on Carl's Slide by the old Howling Wolf Cafe.Salt of this Earth.Have not seen him in years , but will not forget. You are missed already.

I met Neil in 1990 when he came to Boonville to qualify a few of us on the new mowers that Caltrans had purchased. He made that next few days so entertaining, that I looked forward to working with the Garberville/Leggett crews paving the next few years just to visit with Neil. He will be missed by all who ever met him. Jerry King Dist 1 Caltrans

Dear Myrna & Family -- Our thoughts and prayers to you in the passing of Neil. Though we did not know Neil well, the obituary really tells one of the type of man Neil was. So many great memories shared in this obit. God Bless all.

I didn't know Neil but after reading the obituary I'm sure I would have liked him. My wife reads obituaries and says that is the best she has ever read.

May July 4th be clear and and the gathering a reflection of his spirit!

Sorry to read about Neil, will always cherish memories as kids in old neighbored on Albee street

I didn't know him but his obituary is beautiful, sorry for your great loss.

Although I did not know your Dad, I wish I had. Your Obituary was a powerful description of a man who lived an ordinary life heroically. It brought back memories of my own Dad and tears to my eyes. Thank you for your piece.
