NELLY MAHROUS MANGANAS
November 20, 1950 - April 17, 2013
Dr. Nelly Manganas, 62, entered in to eternal sleep on April 17th, 2013 at home, with her family by her side. The daughter of Emily and Mahrous Tawfik, she is survived by her adoring family, her husband of 36 years and the love of her life, Antoun (Tony) Manganas and the second love of her life, her son, Sherif-George Manganas, as well as her brothers Wafik and Bahgat, and sisters, Farida and Hoda. She began life, born in Sudan, then was raised in Cairo, Egypt where she graduated from Cairo University School of Medicine in 1974 and had been practicing Psychiatry since. She was a talented woman who balanced her career with her family and her hobbies; her love of life, cooking, knitting, reading, culture and traveling were a constant source of pleasure for her. Even at her most difficult times, she always had a beautiful smile and radiated a positive, optimistic attitude. To those who had the pleasure of knowing her, their lives have been forever altered for the better and she will live on eternally in our hearts and be remembered as pure, generous and loving spirit. Viewing will start at 4PM at the Salas Brothers Funeral Chapel, in Modesto, CA, on the 23rd of April; followed by Trisagion at 7PM. Funeral services will begin at 10AM on the 24th of April at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, in Modesto, CA, and then Lakewood Funeral Home, in Hughson, CA, afterwards.
