Nicholas George Poulos

I read the obituaries every day but I missed it somehow. we were not only colleagues but became long time friends I hated calling him on weekends with a child in abdominal stress but he was always there for the child with pyloric stenosis or appendicitis. He was a balanced leader when chief of staff at HDH and popular among his peers. I have met only Marian and his wife but he spoke of the children often. In his retirement I would see him volunteering in the Greek Festival , still caring...

I last spoke with Dr. Poulos when he had come home from sheltering arms after having Covid. He sounded pretty worn out. I tried to call him today and his phone was disconnected. I found his obituary and was shocked. I was his nurse for 17 yrs and we had many laughs and we fussed with each other. I once told him that God had blessed his hands with the gift of healing.He taught me so much and I will never forget him.what a wonderful man and friend he was.
