Nicholas Walker Obituary

YORKTOWN - On June 9, 2015, God called Nick home unexpectedly. Through the faith of his family they take comfort in knowing he is resting in the arms of Jesus. Nick was born in Spokane, Washington on September 21, 1965. He graduated from Bishop Ryan High School in Minot, North Dakota. Through an active life he then graduated from Texas A&M in Commerce, Texas with a degree in criminal justice. Later in life he attained a degree in theology from Old Dominion University, with honors. Those left to cherish Nick's memories are his son, Chris Walker of Yorktown, VA; parents, Jan and Bob Byzewski of Yorktown, VA, and Delbert and Donna Walker of Canyon, TX; sisters, Stacy Dufner (Donald) of Watkin, MN, Jackie Parent (David) of New Baden, IL, Rebecca Sanger (Dale) of Meridian ID, Aimee Casey of Haltom City, TX; and brother, Jason Walker (Amanda) of Ft. Hood Army Base in Texas. Nick was a loving uncle to many nieces, nephews and will be greatly missed by his cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, a few aunts and uncles and one nephew. As his family's life without Nick continues they hold comfort in knowing that they will be reunited with him in Heaven one day. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Nick's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 15, at Bethel Manor Chapel, Langley AFB, 1793 1st Ave., in Hampton. Interment will be at a later date. Jan and girls, I wish I could be there to hold you and to be your strength. Nick will forever be only a whisper away. The words I remember most are from you Jan, "Nicholas Wayne Walker, get your butt back over here." He had crossed the street at your mom's to go to the park to play. I love those memories, so that's what I will hold close to my heart. I love you all so very much.
Love and Hugs
'Chelle.

Nick and I didn't get to spend a lot of time together growing up, He was older and we lived on opposite ends of the country. He did however become an awesome Farmville friend. But, when we did get a chance to visit, he always made time to just ask how I was doing. Check on me. He always understood. He acknowledged my life was hard without ever a judgement or feeling sorry for me. It was an I'm proud of you cousin and I'm there if you need me. I will never forget you. Love you now and always.

Del, Donna, Becky and the rest of the family: I remember Nicholas when he was a small boy, around 10 or so, and visited here in Eldorado, OK; he was a fine young man then and am sure he was as an adult and father, too. God Bless y'all and will keep y'all in my prayers.
