Not sure what to say?

Not a day goes by that I don't think about grandpa. What a force of a man. I only wish that he had gotten to meet his great granddaughter. I hope he and grandma are sitting on a beach somewhere.

Great presence at Holy Cross Parish in North Tacoma. Always an inspiration.

Grandpa was my favorite human. I have so many cherished memories. From riding on his back when he swam his laps, to his silver dollar pancake buffet, to him slipping a $20 in my pocket whenever I left his house........I will miss his laugh. His 13 sneezes in a row. His magnificent hugs and huge heart. We were so blessed to have him in our lives for so long. I always thought we had a special relationship. i loved him with all my heart and looked upto him and i still do

i look up to him

I remember getting to know Nick when we had our restaurant on 6th Avenue The district prowl car would usually stop by daily and when he would come in there was always joy in his voice. Later I joined TPD and got to work with him, which was a joy. We would talk about the restaurant as well as the tavern in Old Town. He was always a welcome fixture at our retirement meetings. May he Rest In Peace.

The other day when alot of leaves had fallen from my trees I looked out my kitchen window, as I had done so many times in the past, for my favorite senior Nick but he was not there. We upgraded to a better broom. Years ago I collected him in my car and he fit in in spite of how tall he was and...

Thinking about what a wonderful life, He was someone I admired as a child and felt that his ever enthusiastic personalty influenced my upbringing in such a positive way.

I became of member of the Tacoma Police Dept in 1976. I worked with several different partners during my career there and I can honestly say that Nick Nickolas was the best. He was honest, friendly, funny, and patient. I miss him.
