Nickolas Ramus

Back in the early 1980's, I was walking through a mall in Orange County, Calif., where I lived at the time, and I came across an artist who had a beautiful portrait of an Indian Warrior for sale. It was a print, not the original, but the artist had added some oil touches to the print. The warrior was actor, Nicholas Ramus. I loved it so much and after learning a bit about this actor from the artist, I happily purchased it for $250.00. I was originally from Oklahoma, and I had a 'western'...

It is lovely to see how many people were touched by my father. I am deeply touched, my father gave freely of himself to others in the aspiration of being loved.

I was blessed to be able to work with Nick on the film "The Treasure of Painted Forest" in 2004, and I can easily say that he was the most kind, gentle soul I have ever met. When I knew we were going to be working together on the movie I invited him to lunch. When he found out that I was coming from Los Angeles to have lunch with him, he invited me to stay at his home in Arizona and visit overnight. Windwalker is one of my favorite movies. I always admired Mr. Ramus as a great actor. I just found out today that he had passed. My condolences to the family.
