Resident of Malvern, PA
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved Noel who went peacefully in his sleep on December 12, 2016. Noel's boundless energy, kindness and passion for life will be missed by all those who knew him.
Noel was born in Palo Alto, CA and raised in Cupertino, CA. He also resided in Saratoga, CA, Zurich, Switzerland and most recently Malvern, PA.
Noel is survived by his loving wife, Lorraine Johnson; his parents, LeRoy and Margaret Johnson of Cupertino, CA; his children, Maggie and Kent Johnson; his step-children, Amber and Michelle Jenkins; his grandson Andrew; his brother and sister-in-law, Brett and Mimi Johnson and their children, Christina, Chase and Cassidy.
Noel was a driven and passionate entrepreneur with a long and successful career in the medical devices industry where he pioneered designing therapeutic devices and in operating and managing medical device start-up companies. Most recently, he was the Founder, President, CEO and Board Member of Sequana Medical based in Zurich Switzerland. He spent 13 years at Abbott Laboratories where he developed pump and implantable devices. In 1999, he co-founded HealtheTech, a medical device and consumer products company which went public in 2002. Noel earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and an M.S. and Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia. He also holds several patents for his innovations in the industry.
Noel will always be remembered for the immense love he had for his family and friends, for whom he would do anything. His happiest moments were surrounded by his loved ones and he worked hard to plan many unforgettable family gatherings and trips. Noel always went above and beyond and his endless generosity impacted all those who he encountered. Our memories of those times will stay in our hearts forever. May he rest in peace.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 1:00P.M at LIMA & CAMPAGNA SUNNYVALE MORTUARY, 1315 Hollenbeck Avenue, Sunnyvale.

Only recently learned of this; I was a classmate for all of elementary school, and he always had great birthday parties; loved the one at Futurama Bowling Alley..! And those classroom demonstrations of liquid nitrogen were fun too......decent fella from a decent family; our best to you all.

I hand had the pleasure of knowing Noel and his lovely family since our college days at Berkleley when he was the president of our fraternity. Noel was a great and very loyal friend. He and his family treated me as a family member. We travelled the country in th summer of 1978 and. Had an absolute blast. Noel was an awesome travel companion and friend., I offer my condolences to the entire Johnson family

Noel, was a great friend and a tabular Human being. He will be sorely missed. I had the pleasure of traveling the country with Noel one summer.. He was gracious and incredibly magnanimous , I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing and offer my condolences to his children, Leroy, Margaret, Brett and their families. Brother you are deeply missed, rest in peace.

I will always remember Noel as the sweetest guy in our group of nerds at Kennedy Junior High in Cupertino. It is heartwarming to read that he lived such a full and accomplished life. My deepest sympathy to his entire family and all of his friends.
