Norma Blasberg Obituary

BLASBERG, NORMA WETHERHORN (Mamu) of Miami, Florida peacefully passed away Friday, August 2, 2013. Born in Charleston, South Carolina on October 18, 1925, Mamu was 87 years old, still beautiful and sharp as a tack. Loved and survived by her children Dr. Robert (Brooke) Blasberg, Joni (Dr. Richard) Epstein, Mamu cherished her seven grandchildren, Lauren, Jana and Danielle Epstein and Erin, Megan, Sophie and Ryan Blasberg. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Everett Blasberg, mother, Rollie Wetherhorn and son, Dr. Roger Blasberg. Norma was a graduate of Miami Beach High School and attended college at the University of Georgia. She was accepted to Law School at the University of Miami, but elected to stay home and raise her three children. For many years she worked with her husband, a prominent Dentist in Miami for over 50 years. Brilliant, beautiful and radiant, Mamu was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother and special friend who will be sorely missed and forever remembered. Special thanks to her loyal caregivers, Juliet and Pam, who made sure her last years, months and days were filled with good humor and care. Services will be held on Monday, August 5 at 2 p.m. Riverside Gordon at Mt. Nebo, Kendall, 5900 SW 77 Avenue, Miami, FL, (305) 274-0641. Following services, friends and family will gather to celebrate her life with mahjong, card playing, crossword puzzles and a special Harvey's Bristol Cream toast. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the American Heart Association.

Norma was the best!! As a friend of Roger, she welcomed me into the Blasberg home in 1972, so it's 40+ years now. What a blast at 22 BHD!! Lots of great Norma memories. My sympathy to the family at this time of loss, may you soon come to focus on those great memories I know you have. Of all my friend 's moms, she took genuine interest in you, rooted for you to succeed, inspired you to do your best. Rest in peace sweet Norma.
