Norma Irene Nessler

July 3, 1936 - July 15, 2025

San Antonio, Texas - Norma Irene (Childres) Nessler of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 15 at the age of 89. She was born on July 3, 1936 in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma and grew up in Kennedale, Texas with an older brother and a younger sister. Norma graduated from Fort Worth Polytechnic High School in 1954. She married her high-school sweetheart on January 14, 1955, and they celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary just 6 months ago.

She was a homemaker until both of her children were grown and then she worked until her retirement at the Boy Scouts of America headquarters in Irving, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her parents Norman and Irene Childres, her in-laws Otto M Nessler, Sr and Frankie Florence Nessler, her brothers-in-law Ben Nessler and George Roberts and her sister-in-law Sue Nessler.

She is survived by her husband Otto M. Nessler, Jr, her daughter Alisa Nessler and husband Robert Mitchell, and son Otto M. Nessler III (Trey) and wife Angela, her sister Joy Roberts and brother Hoyt Childres and wife Carol, her beloved grandsons Hawkins, Barrett, and William Nessler, and many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and an animal lover, especially her precious kitties, grand-kitties, and grand-puppies. She was a great wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was much loved and she will be missed.
