Norma Raven

I had the privilege to be one of Ms Raven's nurses. Ms Raven was an inspiration, full of courage and sparkling with wit and humor. It was an honor to take care of Ms Raven. She is a patient I will never forget.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Norma and Seymour attended my wedding in Madison in 1983; they were childhood friends of my father.

I have such fond memories of many, many days (after school) spent with Joel and Jon Raven at their home. Norma was always welcoming and interested in what we all were thinking about (and in the performances and antics we came up with) She was a lovely, caring and warm person whom I shall always remember.

Mrs. Raven (as I'll always know her) was a wonderful, elegant woman. She was the mother of one of my best friends growing up (Marc) - our downstairs neighbors in East View Park - and I pretty much grew up with her as a constant presence in my life. When she spoke to me, it was always in gentle tones, and her voice had a beautiful, melodic sound to it - very soothing to hear. I don't recall ever hearing a harsh word from her.
