A giant in spirit who was loved by many and who unselfishly gave to others. The tributes posted show how many, many lives he lovingly touched.
As the days, months and years pass, the fondest and sweetest of memories of Obrey will remain in our hearts.
May the family be comforted to know that many prayers are with you during this difficult time.

I had the privilege on several occasions back in the day to meet Obrey Wilson. He was an outstanding singer/songwriter in my opinion. I posted a write up on my Facebook page because I wanted people to remember him and his recordings. Time does have an affect on us as we go our ways in this world. Sometimes one's passing brings us back to reality and together in memory. Rest in Peace and thank you for sharing your talent.

I was just a teenager trying to get into the music business when I began playing for Obrey. Man did I learn a lot, not only about the music business, performing, what it takes to be a showman, etc., but also about life. As we traveled around the "chittlin' circuit" I learned even more about Black people in the South.
