SPAIDAL, Olive Lucille Iona (nee Harris), "LU" to all who knew her. Lu was a genuinely happy person who gave of herself in so many ways to so many people right up to the end. Born March 4, 1930, peacefully passed way into the presence of Jesus November 17, 2009. Predeceased by her loving husband, Bill and youngest son, Rob. Lu will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her only daughter, Lindi & husband Ken; sons Rick & wife Diane, Randy & wife Linda and Rob's wife Deana. "Nana" will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Jessica, Ryan, Shane, Kelly, Matthew, Joey, Jacob and Holly. She leaves behind her brothers, sister, nieces, nephews, cousins, great grand kids and many good friends. Lu's sense of humor, beautiful smile, optimistic outlook and joyful nature carried her through life and the long journey with Alzheimers. We are truly grateful for her wonderful loving friend and companion, June who made the journey the best it could be. Special thanks to all the loving staff at Dufferin who cared for Lu these past years. A 'Celebration of Lu's Life" will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Burkeview Family Funeral Care, 1340 Dominion Ave, Port Coquitlam, 604-944-4128. In lieu of flowers the family would take great comfort and joy if you would write out a special memory of Lu for them to keep and send it to Lindi or www.MeM.com.
