Patricia Engbring

In 1979, I was a brand new nurse on 6 West, St. Mary´s Hospital. It was a tough place to work, for any nurse, because it was geriatric medicine and oncology. I worked the PM shift with Pat for 3 years, before changing my career to pediatrics. But Pat stayed on 6 West a very long time after I left. She was one of the best nurses you would ever want: Compassionate, sympathetic, hardworking, stubborn, generous with her time and advice. She was a great mentor to this novice nurse. Sorry for your loss. I will miss your mom alot. I would go over to her house and have conversations with her. I will also miss all the yrs of community Gatage Sales with her. Sorry I can't be at funeral I am on vacation. Your mom was a great lady. Pat was my neighbor for 59 yrs.
