Patricia Littleton Obituary

Patricia Littleton
04/10/1941 - 07/29/2025
Patricia "Pat" Holladay Waggoner Littleton passed away on July 29, 2025, leaving a legacy of joy, love and friendship. She was born on April 10, 1941, in Sweetwater, Texas, to Clyde and Lucille Holladay. Her childhood in this small West Texas town was the beginning of a life full of love, community and life-long friendships.
She met and married her high school sweetheart, Bascom Waggoner, in 1958, and soon moved to Denton, Texas, where he attended then North Texas State University. Daughter Kelli was born during these happy married-student college years. After graduation, the family moved briefly to Tyler and soon to Austin in 1965, where they welcomed their new baby boy, Marc.
Life took a sad turn in 1972 when Bascom passed away from cancer, leaving behind his young wife and family. Pat's strength, resolve, determination and friendships carried her through. A true Steel Magnolia. She sought solace in family and friends, and normalcy through work and new friendships. Her years in bond fund sales at Nuveen & Co and Merrill Lynch were some of her most cherished memories.
Pat was a wonderful mother, lover of life, artist, and traveler. But above all else, she was everyone's friend. She gave of herself and touched so many lives with grace and love. Pat left us too soon and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. Her memory will especially be cherished by her family - daughter Kelli Merriweather and husband Tim; son Marc Waggoner and former daughter in law, Alex; grandchildren Katy Merriweather, her husband Sean Seilheimer, and grandson William Seilheimer, Charles Merriweather and wife Jackie and new baby boy expected in January, Bascom and Beau Waggoner; her brother Rick Holladay and wife Linda; nephew Dan Holladay and wife Teresa and children Brittany and Kenneth; as well as all of the extended family and friends of whom there are too many to mention here.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14051 N. Interstate Highway 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. CookWaldenCapitalParks.com. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made to the Umlauf Sculpture Garden or charity of choice.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Pat´s passing. She was witty, generous, elegant, and wonderfully smart, with a dry sense of humor that always made us giggle. Though she was made of steel, she carried herself with gentleness and generosity, and her inner beauty truly outshone even her outward grace.

I will always treasure the memory of her helping with my wedding in the Austin rose garden-her artistry with flowers shone through in every detail, from the yards of tulle to the charming table arrangements, all stamped with Pat´s touch. I was also fortunate to travel to London with her and her friends, where her curiosity, knowledge of history, and sheer delight in new cultures made her stand out. Strangers were drawn to her warmth and eager to lend a hand. Over the years, Pat always had kind words to share, with her dry wit running just beneath the surface. She was unforgettable in every sense. What an honor it was to know her.

I started to school with Pat in the 1st grade. There were 13 of us and remained friends down through the years. We traveled together and attended class reunions together. She was the best, and so much fun, always a gracious host when visiting her home. She will truly be missed. Much love and prayers to her family.

My father worked for Merrill Lynch, and I met Pat there. She was most impressive. Rest in Eternal Peace, Pat.

My condolences to Pat's loving family. She was always such a class act. Smart, gentle, calm, and with a lovely laugh. So many of us at Merrill Lynch held her in the highest esteem. She was an amazing role model.

What a huge loss to this world. Pat was dynamic in so many ways. She was a force of nature and I could have only hoped to be half the woman she was. She could make me laugh like no other. RIP sweet lady!
