Patricia Ann Hockman Penny passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005. A brilliant star faded from the sky that day and our earth has grown a little darker with her loss.

The Hockmans were dear family friends and we enjoyed many special times together. I especially enjoyed visiting with Patty when she and her family came to Edgar a few years ago. I have fond memories of the Hockman family when we were growing up in Kearney, NE in the 1950's. Patty (that's what we called her when she was little) attended my birthday parties and we went to church camp together. I remember the sadness when Mary Ellen became ill and passed away at such a young age. The Hockmans were very solid in their faith and some of the kindest people I ever met. A very sad time, I know. We offer our sympathy and prayers to the family. I have many good memories of growing up in Kearney, Nebraska with the Hockman girls. What a nice time that was. Patty was 10 years younger and was like a little sister. I know she will be greatly missed.
