Paul Lee Core

Paul Lee Core, age 64, passed away on July 22, 2013 at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Paul was born in 1948 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Hoyt E. Core and the late Martha R. Core of Chattanooga. He attended Chattanooga Central High School and graduated in the Class of 1966 from Red Bank High School in Chattanooga. He was a National Merit Scholar. Paul came to Louisiana after graduation from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. His first job in Louisiana was with Texaco. He had a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Tennessee, Class of 1970, and spent his career working in the oil industry. Paul also earned an M.S. degree in Engineering from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He finished his career working at Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc. in Baton Rouge. Survivors include his sisters, Ruth Grant (Mrs. Milton C.) of Germantown, Tennessee, Elaine Sullivan (Mrs. James W.) of Malvern, Pennsylvania, five nieces and nephews, and his special friend, Sandra Lawrence. His many Louisiana friends received his "uniquely themed" Christmas albums and attended New Orleans Jazz Fest with him. Services are private.
