GREENVILLE - Paul E. Fannon Sr., 85 of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on June 16, 2014, at 10:27 p.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton, Ohio.
He was born Jan. 22, 1929, in Barbourville, Ky., the son of the late Roy and Mossie (Goley) Fannon. He retired from Delco Products. He served in the United States Army in the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.
He is preceded in death by his parents; stepgranddaughter: Sarah Hime; brother: Silas Fannon; sister: Mae Ely.
He is survived by his wife: Rita (Curtner) Fannon of Greenville; sons and daughter-in-law: Paul E. Fannon Jr. of Dayton, Ohio, David L. and Isabel Fannon of Kettering, Ohio; stepsons and daughters-in-law: Steven and Pam Ungericht of Minnesota, William E. and Sateasch Hime of Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother: George Fannon of Dayton, Ohio; sisters: Pearl Dalton of Dayton, Ohio, Ida Price of Bellbrook, Ohio, Fayetta Helton of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Terry Terrell officiating. Burial will follow in Gettysburg Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Veteran's graveside services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Paul's oldest Grandson has shared many great memories of what an amazing Grandfather this man was to him. I never got to meet Paul, but his Grandson takes great pride in saying he is just like him. My prayers are with this family.
