Paul E. Harshman Jr.

I had Mr. Harshman for Senior Comp class at Sylvania High School. I was having problems at home and one day I burst out crying in class. Mr. Harshman dismissed the class. He offered his hankerchief and listened to me. He was so compassionate and understanding. I have often thought of that kind act over the years.

I was attending St. Francis when Andy was born and I was priviledge to coach Casey and Charlie at St. Francis. I treasure these years with them and the St. Francis family. I just learned of Paul's passing and, on behalf of the Hancock family, I extend our sympathies to the entire Harshman family. Our families go back a long way, as Paul's parents and my parents were acquaintances, if not friends, in their youth. Both of our families were closely involved with the growth and development of St. Francis, from the Golden Knights Ball, to Fun-a-rama, to parents organizations and athletics. My sympathies to the Harshman family, I had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. Harshman through my good friendship with Andy and the sports we played together. Mr. Harshman was a wonderful, caring person who went out of his way to make you feel comfortable around him and his family. He was a great role model for anyone he came in contact with.
