Not sure what to say?

I had Mr. Harshman for Senior Comp class at Sylvania High School. I was having problems at home and one day I burst out crying in class. Mr. Harshman dismissed the class. He offered his hankerchief and listened to me. He was so compassionate and understanding. I have often thought of that kind act over the years.

Very sorry for your loss.

Dear Nancy and family,

My deepest sympathies for your loss. I will cherish the memories of our time at St. Francis and later at St. Meinrad (what a pleasant surprise to see him show up that Fall!) I'm sorry I couldn't join you, but be assured of my prayers for you all--I know Paul doesn't need them. Love,

To Paul's family,
Paul was the summer recreation leader at Elmhurst Park for several years in the early 60s. Elmhurst Park was a summer haven for neighborhood kids....myself being one. We would go several times a day for softball team practice, crafts, getting ready for the junior olympics, etc. He must have been a college student, and even then, was a person of kindness and gentleness while giving attention to all. And the attention of a kind and gentle college student when you are...

Dear Nancy and the Harshman family,
I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Paul's death...
For me it has triggered a wealth of emotions, a reflection on life's priorities, a reinforcement of God's will and our purpose in life, and a sense of nostalgia...

Paul and I go back to the first days of our births...almost 67 years ago...He was born on May 1st, 1942...I was born on May 5...at St. Vincent's Hospital...Pat Nally was born on May 7th...It could be that my mother,...

Mrs. Harshman and family,

Marilyn and I are deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Paul has had a lasting impression on me and his loyalty to his family has been an influence on our family. I was attending St. Francis when Andy was born and I was priviledge to coach Casey and Charlie at St. Francis. I treasure these years with them and the St. Francis family. The strength of this family will bring you comfort in the coming days.

With deepest sympathy,

Coach...

I just learned of Paul's passing and, on behalf of the Hancock family, I extend our sympathies to the entire Harshman family. Our families go back a long way, as Paul's parents and my parents were acquaintances, if not friends, in their youth. Both of our families were closely involved with the growth and development of St. Francis, from the Golden Knights Ball, to Fun-a-rama, to parents organizations and athletics. Paul and my sister Sue were in the same class, but gender required that...

The Harshman Family -

Our sympathies go out to the Harshman family. We are sorry that this is late, we were out of town and just got word. I only met Mr. Harshman once for a brief moment when traveling to Toledo on business with Casey, but I do remember his kindness and how he made me feel at ease. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. The Schilling's

My sympathies to the Harshman family, I had the pleasure of getting to know Mr. Harshman through my good friendship with Andy and the sports we played together. Mr. Harshman was a wonderful, caring person who went out of his way to make you feel comfortable around him and his family. He was a great role model for anyone he came in contact with.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Harshman family as they deal with this loss.

Nancy & family... Yes indeed life is full of surprizes. How would I have known that when I saw you and Paul at the funeral home for Butch Komives wake two weeks ago that it would be the last time I would see Paul alive. Our deepest sympathy to you and may your deep faith in the resurrection be your strength in this time of grief and loss. Thanks be to God for the goodness of his life. Be prepared for we know not the day or the hour. I will offer three masses for the repose of his soul and...
