Not sure what to say?

Well, it wasn;t until tonight, while trying to find Paul's B&B, thaT I found he had passed away. My wife and I stayed at his place quite a few years ago, just after I retired as a police officer in a north Texas city. I was looking for that special getaway again and saw the news story. I am so sorry to have lost him. I thought of him often and talked of him often. What a great man he was. I miss him already.

JEFF AND LAURA,
MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN THIS DIFFICULT TIME!

Sheriff Hastings, you were a co-worker friend and mentor. I owe you everything for the experience you afforded me in the area of Narcotics and Criminal Investigations. You were a dear friend and will be missed greatly. It was a true honor to have known you and may you rest in peace.

Jesus Hernandez, Jr.

We'll miss you Paul. Your grandsons talk to you everyday because they know that you are listening. Love, Julie

Sheriff Hastings, May 18,1990. Quote" Since I am now an old timer it makes me especially proud to see that officers of your caliber will be around to carry on when my generation retires to fishing and telling war stories", was only a portion of his letter to me upon my resignation from Hays County. Well, Sheriff as you said training was important and I want to thank you and your family for the service and guidance.

My Prayer is with the hastings family.

Jim Kohler

Paul was a wonderful neighbor. We will miss exchanging waves and Christmas Goodies. We will be sure to raise a glass in his honor this Christmas.
We send our deepest sympathies during this time of sorrow.

Sincerely-The Howards (John, Leah, Theo & Gigi)

Jeff and Siblings,
I am deeply saddened by your loss. May looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Jeff,
May the Lord bless you and your family during this difficult time. I always had a great deal of respect for your father and the way he loved his kids.

May the sympathy of those who care and the memories of your loved one comfort you during this time of grief.
