Not sure what to say?

I miss my friend Mr. Jeffries. I taken him some dinner one thanks giving and we use to go out for lunch and keep other company. The last times I saw him he was in the parking lot waiting for someone to come fix is car and he was telling me how bad his back was hurting him. So I told him I would be back to go to the hospital with him. When I knock at his door he was not there. Then one day I saw his art work was gone out of his window I enquired to the people who were cleaning out his place....

I am new to the area and was Mr. Jeffries' neighbor. I helped him the day he went to Riddle and went to visit him a few times while he was there. He was just the sweetest, kindest man - I'm glad to see that he did have family and hope that he is at peace.

I am remembering him taking me hunting for my first time and teaching how to fire one of shotguns. Shooting my first rabbit and him showing me how to clean it. He was a good teacher in many ways. Though we were not close, it was a pleasure to see him at our house to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of my mother and father, Warner, his brother, and Virginia, my mother. I'm sure he will be missed in so many ways, by so many. Dave and Debi Jeffries (Nephew) Carneys Pt. N.J.

The students, parents, faculty and staff of Saint Mary Magdalen School wish to express their condolences and thanks to Mr. Jeffries for service as our crossing guard. Be assured we will be praying for him at First Friday Mass.
