Not sure what to say?

As a college classmate of Gerald's, I echo his sentiments. Paul's class on Human Development was a reflection of his unique personality and perfectly suited to the activist students of the 1960s and 70s. At his suggestion, I invited my mother to attend one of his classes and she enjoyed his presentation immensely. Paul also welcomed students into his home, where we met Frances and the children. Like Gerald, I briefly encountered Paul later in life. We met by chance in the 1990s at 20...

I feel so appreciative to have known Paul. I first met him in 1970 at the Experimental College at Barnard/Columbia University in NYC. There he played a unique role as mentor, `encounter group´ leader, moral and psychological and emotional guide. He touched me personally at a particularly difficult moment, with his grace, kindness and elegance. Years later, in 2019 we reconnected in Stockbridge at his home. In our Dreamerie Paul took us to internal journeys far and wide! I loved his open and daring side that often illuminated something in a dream. I loved how he valued each and every one of us. His wife Fran was his anchor and I really miss those 2 together in their home by the fire.

One of the last times I spoke with Paul, he told me, "Always be prepared to be surprised. . . that's the way I like to live my life anyway." So grateful for those last moments.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.

Paul was an exceptional man. It's not been often that I've befriended people of such overwhelming intellect, humor, curiosity, and commitment to social justice as this delightful man. We'd talk about his youth, Yiddish, family, the Black Panthers, Leonard Cohen, and comedians. I'm truly grateful to have gotten to know him so intimately.

He was a wonderful person. And we will all miss him a lot. I am happy that he and /fran came to my BarMitzvah in 2017. And we will all come to visit the family in Stockbridge this summer. Benjamin I know and loved Paul since 1959- three quarters of my life. When I first married in 1961, Len Simon and I lived in the apartment just vacated by Paul and Fran, just above Alex's restaurant on 6th Avenue in the Village. Paul was my first supervisor when I interned at Einstein hospital, ...

My beloved friend Paul. I love you. You and Fran are my family. You have enriched my life and the lives of so many others.
