Not sure what to say?

Our family send condolences to Jane through this season ... Bob VanBuskirk absolutely loved and admired him greatly... to about the memories of them flying together from Duke days was obviously amazing! They were friends besides Paul and Bob talking about business together... Iron did sharpen iron here!

I am Lee Williams, I served with Paul in basic training at Sampson air base in N Y.

With great sadness I learned today of the loss of Dr. Mickey in 2024. I am a 1972 graduate of the Duke Divinity School and had the great fortune to be one of his students. I had wonderful professors at Duke, but Dr. Mickey was a favorite and the only one that eventually related to me as a friend. His teaching and approach to pastoral counseling has been a foundation for not only the times I counseled others but how I have tried to relate to friends, patients, colleagues and adversaries...

I went thru basic training at Sampson air base in NEW YORK in 1955 with Paul. I saw him one time on 700 club on t v. A great man.

I've all-too-recently that I have had few mentors in my life, including my academic career. As I developed this understanding, however, Dr. Mickey stood alone as a professor who proactively tried to lend his mentorship to my Duke Divinity (class of '73) experience. Alas, I was too young and/or clueless to understand his offers and, thus, likely missed out on what could have been an even more growth experience.

He was a thoughtful professor and later on a good friend. I am sorry to hear of his death. Sincere condolences to Jane and the family.

Paul was a blessing to many couples when he worked in my office in Raleigh NC providing marital counseling. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ and his wife and children.

I was so honored to know Dr Mickey, such a kind and brilliant man, whom I met through Contact Helpline. My thoughts are with family and all who knew him.

What a legacy! We will be praying for you and the family during this time of bereavement. He will be truly missed. I know his legacy will live on. Thank you for allowing The Mansions at Gwinnett Park Team to assist you in caring for your loved one. The Mansions at Gwinnett Park AL and MC Georgeanna
