Paul Scheer

My name is Tom Messano and I attended Orangeview Junior High School in Anaheim CA from 1974-1977 (it was 7th, 8th, and 9th grades back then). Coach Scheer was my Physical Education teacher all 3 years. I was also honored and proud that he selected me to serve as scorekeeper and statistician for his 9th grade boys basketball team in 1976-77. Paul Scheer is the only BIG TIME SPORTS figure I ever met and kind of knew, through the Heaston Family, and being around sometimes when Paul was at their home. He was always so kind, and he knew my name!! Many years later at his Mother-in-Law's service, Paul spotted me and came over and introduced himself to my Mother and me, and I was once again so thrilled that he remembered my name. Luke and I are so sorry for this loss to the Family. Sincere love to all of you.
