1921-2018
Paul Francis Shinsky, Sr. born May 28,1921, in Breckenridge, Minnesota, to Frank and Catherine Shinsky, passed away in Alvin, Texas Monday, April 2, 2018 after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jane Yarrington Shinsky. He is survived by his children: Paul F. Shinsky, Jr., Susan M. Shinsky, Cathy Shinsky Moffett, Carol Shinsky Marcotte, Patti Shinsky Poulides, and Mary Shinsky Howard and their spouses. He was blessed by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
During WWII, he was a member of the 8th Air Force, 384 Bomb Group Heavy, and was stationed in England. His plane was shot down over occupied France and he spent almost two years in a German Prisoner of War camp. In his working years, he created Paul's Outboards of Houston and was successful and respected in his business. He was devoted to his family and his faith, lived a full and interesting life, and will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was a man of honor, served God, his country and loved his family.
Visitation with the family will be Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Forest Park Westheimer, from 2:00 to 5:00pm, with a partial rosary. The burial service will be held Monday, April 9, 2018, to begin at 10:00am, also at Forest Park Westheimer, where he will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Jane.

Paul and Jane were always so cordial and opened their hearts and home when we came to Texas. He came to son, Jaspers commencement from air force basic training at Lacklund AB. He received vip treatment as he should coming onto the base. He was a fine gentleman.

Paul was an absolute gentleman and so kind to me & my parents. I enjoyed so much the conversations with him sharing about his life, service and sacrifices he, my Dad and many others made in WWII and POW camp Stalag III.
