I had the pleasure of working with the Skogen family for many years, and I knew Tom as a witty creative person that went out of his way to welcome and assist new employees. Although it has many years since I´ve seen Tom, I will always miss him.

A memory of Tom, when my mother- in-passed my wife Marilyn found a wast basket that the store had given away at Christmas as a present to customers. She said she wanted to return it to the Skogen´s. We took it to the office ( then on second street) and took it inside where we met with Tom. Marilyn gave it to him saying she wanted to return it to the family. In the early 1980's when I was a single parent with a small son I had to make every cent count. My treat of the day was to go to Paul's Pantry for a coffee and a sweet roll. That is where I met Tom. Somehow Tom knew money was tight for me. One Thanksgiving at Paul's Pantry Tom gave me a small ham out of the goodness of his heart. He knew I couldn't afford such a luxury and insisted it was his treat to me and my toddler son. I never forgot that act of kindness. This is the kind of person...
