Ann
I am so sorry for your loss. I was out of town last week and just heard the news. You may recall my sister went out with P.D. in high school and my brother was good friend's with Jeff. So sad to see 3 of "the boys" died so young. My thoughts are with you.

I am saddened and shocked. Such a loss of a wonderful man. Always had time for an impromptu phone call and spent a generous amount of time explaining all that legal stuff. He will be missed. My thoughts are with you.

I only met PD once and that was this past Thanksgiving when I flew to Chicago to spend the holiday with my sister Pearl and Jim and was invited to PD and Ann's house. They were the most gracious couple and welcomed me into their home. I am so sad to hear about your loss. My deepest sympathy to the Weatherhead family.

PD was truly one of the best "guys" I've ever known. He could always be counted on to do the right thing - instinctively. I'm sorry I didn't get to know him better - thanks for all he did for everyone around him.

PD shared his legal and life wisdoms with me time and time again, without a bill, without judgement, always with kindness and a funny line to make me laugh. I hope that the impact he made on so many lives will comfort those who knew and loved him best. He will be greatly missed by many.

Dear Weatherhead Family,
I'm shocked & saddened beyond words. Over fifty five years ago my brothers introduced me to this little kid who later was the altar boy at my wedding who became like another brother & confident in the coming years. Too bad he never got around to writing that book about my crazy family, he had more than enough material. It would have been a best seller I'm sure. Now he & Tommy are most likely reminiscing over their too short lifetime together

Pete was our pillar through good times and bad times. There are no words to describe the loss.
There are equally no words to describe his selfless dedication to his friends, here is a whole set of friends that used to be his clients only, but during bad times we became friends.
One cannot have a better friend than Pete.
Ann and Family, our deepest sympathy.

For fifty five years you where my best friend. St Francis Xavier-as boy scouts-Camp Makajawan-you never could quite get that whittling merit badge-choir boys-many many many late night "sneak outs" just walking all over Gilson Park-praying your father would not catch us, New Trier East, where we discovered girls-a vacation together to Vail-almost getting killed due to the riots after MLK was killed, U of I. where we discovered even more girls-the first time I ever saw your heart broken.I still love the commentary you gave as you showed all the slides from your trip to China. I was looking forward to the next slide show about Machu Picchu. I use to kid you about all the money you lost because you would spend an hour on the phone talking about life, kids, spouses etc.. We held each other at Tom's funeral and cried like babies. Life just became a lot less fun. I knew you were a special man all my life. Smart, funny, you KNEW everybody! But to me you were the kid I grew up with and my best friend since the first day of first grade. I hope you and Tom are having a good time. I will be there presently.

Dear Weatherhead Family,
How lucky you were to have this wonderful man in your lives. For the short time I knew him, he made me laugh at every encounter. He knew how to pull off the perfect prank and make Ann's heart dance. How lucky we all are to have known Pete Weatherhead.

B'shalom (with peace),
Ellen

Dear Pete, you were the first face I saw every morning when I walked into work and the last face I saw when I left for the day. I still can't believe you're gone.

You will be missed by everyone in the office and be remembered as the extraordinary man that you were.

You were the most knowledgeable attorney I knew and always had an answer to every problem. You were funny, thoughtful and charming and the office is a somber place without you.

I wish your family and friends all the strength in the world to get through this hard time.
