Paula Marie Higgins

Bow, NH - Paula Marie Higgins age 65 of Bow, passed away on Tuesday October 17th. She was born on October 23rd 1957 in Brooklyn, NY. Daughter of the late Bernice and William Higgins. Paula was a devout mother, wife and friend. Paula grew up in Lowell MA, where she attended the Academy of Notre Dame and Saint Joseph High School. She received her associates degree from Burdett College, in Secretarial Studies. Paula enjoyed her childhood by traveling with her family and spending time with her cousins.

Paula dedicated over 20 years of her life to the Mclean Hospital and Nashua Counseling Center, working as an administrative assistant and climbing the ladder to work in triage. She was known for her dedication and passion to support patients.

Thoughts from Paula's children: Ben- My mom was the smartest person I know, if I ever needed help she was the first person I would go to.

Elizabeth- My mother was the most selfless, kindhearted woman. She was known to be the rock of the family, always having the answers and kind words to solve and problem . Mom was the person everyone went to in times of need, discomfort and struggle. She was always thinking of others and supporting them in any way she could. Mom loved hummingbirds, she always had their sugar water ready, along with the flowers they liked. Her favorite color was red, and loved Downton Abbey. My mom taught me how to be patient, kind and empathetic.

Karen- My step-mother was an incredible woman, she was patient in all the ways that counted. She held my father to account and loved all of us as if we were her own. As a step-mother myself, I often called her for advice and support. I wish I could be more like her in her selfless devotion to our blended family. She was so strong in her values and persistent in her pursuits and I loved her very much.

She is survived by her husband Donald O'Sullivan, children; Sara Luppi, Ben Luppi, Elizabeth O'Sullivan, Paul O'Sullivan, Karen O'Sullivan, Kevin O'Sullivan, son in law; Daniel Ludemann, brother Billy Higgins, sister in law; Sharon Higgins, sister; Christine Strules, grandchildren; Sean O'Sullivan, Liam O'Sullivan, Caroline O'Sullivan, Lucy Ludemann, Olivia Ludemann, Alexander Ludemann.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.

The Waters Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Not sure what to say?

I was so saddened to hear that Paula had passed! She was so kind and always available to us patients when we needed something. She will be sorely missed. My condolences to all of her family. You were blessed to have her as your relative.

I just found out today about Paula's passing. Though our only interactions were over the phone through her work, this has made me very sad. She always returned my calls quickly, and was sweet and helpful. I think she would have been a good friend, and I'm sure she is greatly missed by all who knew her. Rest easy with the other angels, Paula.

I just heard about Paula´s passing. Im so shocked and saddened to hear this news. I have been a patient of Jane McGrath for over twenty years now and in the last 5 or 10 so years I have talked and emailed Paula many times with medication and refill questions and to re-schedule a missed appointment or ask for a different appointment and Paula was always happy to help me and she even would ask how I was and tell me not to "google" my new meds too much because it would only make my anxiety...

I never met Paula in person, but I found her to be caring every time we spoke over the phone. She made sure I had what I needed, the care I got from her was as above and beyond, consistently. She made calling in about my medication not only a stress/anxiety free process, but a pleasant one. Rest in peace Paula. - Christopher Dezurick
