Pearl Dickerson Obituary

Dickerson, Pearl
1959 - 2018
A child of God, Pearl lived...and died for others. She always put others first. Family, friends and strangers were the cornerstone of her life. Pearl was a rarity indeed. She was authentic, genuine and humble, a woman of great character, woven of dignity and class. Black, white, pink or yellow, rich, poor, young or old, Pearl gravitated to all people with open arms and her incredible smile. If you were happy, she was happy. Pearl sacrificed so much for so many. Because of her selfless kind acts, passion and commitment to others, she has passed through the gates of Heaven and entered into the house of our Heavenly Father...truly the house of her dreams. God Bless you Pearl. On behalf of the hundreds, perhaps thousands of people's lives you have touched, each inspired and impacted by you in such a positive and glorious way...thank you. May you rest in the peace you so deserve. You will be missed, but never forgotten. Pearl will be deeply missed by her husband, Duke Dickerson; children, Stephen Hensley and Samantha Jane; siblings, Louis Mark Bando, Victor Bando, Faith Bando Loescke, and Dante Bando; and numerous other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents Narciso and Perla Bando, siblings Esther Angela "Cookie" Bando Salyankar and Narciso "Butch" Bando, and her in-laws Steve and Jane Dickerson. At the request of Pearl's family, a private service will be held, and a celebration of her life will be scheduled on the balcony of her new home this summer. For those willing to continue Pearl's legacy of helping others, please consider contributing to the Overbrook Presbyterian Church, 4131 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214. Contributions will be dedicated to those in need, and given in the name of Pearl. Arrangements are entrusted to SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street. Dear Duke, Stephen and Samantha,

I was both shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Pearl's passing.

As a neighbor and friend she --as well as you--were always so friendly and ready to be helpful to me and my Mom...

Ill always remember Duke and Pearl doing their daily walks up and down the hill by my home in Danbury.

She would always stop n chat if I approached--(and I know this broke up her exercise routine--but she never passed me by:))

Stephen and Samantha, you two will carry Pearl's spirit, wisdom and friendly demeanor with you in your lives.

We are all truly blessed to have her in our lives.

Your ex-neighbor and friend,
Jeff Barath

The first time I met Pearla it was April 2007 , Our first meeting was like we have been knowing each other for a long time.
There after we started our relationship, she gave me the best love ,replace my family by giving me unconditional love . My name is Windy I am originally from South Africa Johannesburg.
Pearla invited me to her house and introduce me to her family , it was a great pleasure to meet her family , from that day I start having a family , they were always there for me ,she was always there for me through thick and thin
I remember she used to say to me sister I love you and she did mean it, and she was looking forward to see my granddaughter Nthabiseng and my great grandson Amogelang. Her dreams came true because she was with them before she left CT state .
The last time I spoke to her it was on December and there after I was always thinking about her because it was something knew for me to call her and not hearing her voice I said to my kids something is not good I miss Pearla only to find that she is gone. Duke,Samantha,Steven God had a purpose for our life ,you had a good wife ,mother, aunt, sister friend ,caring, compassion and she was also God sent to all of us , I know that she gave all of you the best care My friend Pearla Rest In Peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. Pearl was an absolutely beautiful person and I always felt I had been guided to her by God. I admired her patience, appreciated the many kindnesses she extended to all (including to myself), and am grateful to have known her. I will forever remember not only the sparkle of her eyes when she laughed but the loveliness of her soul. May God comfort you, keep you, and give you His peace. Duke, Stephen, and Samantha. We are devastated to hear of the loss of Pearl. While we did not know her for a long period of time, she left such a lasting impact on our entire family. A true "Mother of Pearl". We found this definition on the web and it truly describes Pearl. "Pearls symbolize wisdom acquired through experience. They are believed to attract wealth and luck as well as offer protection. Known for their calming effect, pearls can balance one's karma, strengthen relationships, and keep children safe. The pearl is also said to symbolize the purity, generosity, integrity, and loyalty of its wearer." May she Rest In Peace and continue to guide from above. We pray for you all during these trying times and know that we are there for you all-ways!
Keep the Faith! The Floer Family-Chris, Skip, Luke and Samantha

Dear Pearl, you were a good friend. When we first metyou were a role modelthe happy, loving young mother that I aspired to be. You helped me raise my children and you shared your children with me. You, Cookie, Samantha and Stephen became a part of my family. Your generosity and giving nature made me want to be more like you. The happiness you found in your life helped me to appreciate and love my own life more. I missed you like crazy when you moved, but I didn't keep in touch like I should have. You made a difference in my life and I wish I had told you that when I had the chance. Sam, Stephen and DukeI'm so sorry for your loss. I'll never forget Pearl, and I'm forever grateful and blessed to have called her my friend.

My deepest sympathies to your family.I knew Pearl from the Ridgefield Montessori, I was a nanny for 3 girls who attend the school..We all loved her so much, she greeted us everyday with a beautiful warm and loving smile. She took the time to get to know me which for me meant the world, She was kind to core of her being..Every Monday Avery the oldest of the girls would say"I cant wait to tell Pearl what I did this weekend" or "show her my new hair band,"Pearl made everything you said to her feel important..I was truly sad when she left, and my heart is heavy with the news of her passing...She brightened all our lives and now she will brighten heaven...
