Pearl King Obituary

Pearl Y. King

Bow, NH - Pearl Yeaton King, born in Northwood, New Hampshire, on August 17, 1935, passed peacefully after a brief battle with cancer on September 10, 2025.

Pearl was a woman of great strength, grace, and fortitude. At a young age, she took on the responsibility of caring for her father and younger siblings-an early testament to her lifelong dedication to family.

She graduated from Coe-Brown Academy and began nursing school, but life had other plans. Pearl married David Gazaway and soon began to build a loving family. A tireless worker, she started her career at Concord Group Insurance Company, later moving into the banking industry. She eventually spent over 20 years as an administrator at the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission.

In 1993, Pearl married Walter King. Together, they ran Ayers Lake Campground and Cottages, while working full-time for the State of New Hampshire. After retiring, Pearl and Walter moved to the west coast of Florida, where they enjoyed their later years in the warmth and sunshine.

A gifted seamstress, Pearl lovingly made clothing for her children and family. In retirement, she discovered a passion for quilting-creating over 200 quilts, which she gifted to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Pearl was an extraordinary baker, known for her blond brownies, banana bread, and whoopie pies. She gave most of her baked goods away, using her talents was a way to express love. Her home was always open, welcoming, and filled with the comforting aroma of something delicious in the oven.

Above all, family was the cornerstone of Pearl's life. She was endlessly proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Pearl was predeceased by her son George; sisters Jeannette, May, and Marie; and brothers Richard and George.

She is survived by her husband, Walter King; her children, PollyAnn and Hal Stanwood of York ME, Terri Gazaway Barnard of Concord, David and Wendy Gazaway of Bow, and Nadeen and Kevin Carbone of Concord; as well as her siblings Marla, Grace, Nita, Suzanne, and Donna.

Pearl leaves behind six cherished grandchildren-Kimball, Erin, Marshall, Hanna, Dylan, and Caleb-and eight great-grandchildren.

Earlier today

Aunt Pearl was my favorite aunt. I'll always remember her bear hugs, hugs that felt warm and loving. I hope to see her in heaven. Hugs to my cousins at this time of sorrow.
