Pedro HERNANDEZ Obituary
"Pete" 46, passed in peace Thursday, July 26, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. Pete was born in Ponce, PR, February 23, 1972 to Carmen Luz and Jose Manuel Hernandez. Pete attended Auburn University and Troy State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to successfully build three companies in the Asphalt Paving and Milling Industries, with over 20 years of experience; this was his true passion. Pete was an avid fisherman and lover of life. He was a devoted husband, father and friend. All that knew him, loved him. Pete married Kristen Bitner, in Tampa FL, in 1996 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Together they raised two boys, Cole Manuel and Luke Richard. He is survived by his wife, Kristy; sons, Cole and Luke; parents, Carmen and Jose; father-in-law, Richard Bitner; brother, Jose Luis; sister, Lydia Hernandez Adams; and seven nieces and nephews. A Holy Mass is scheduled for Friday, August 3rd at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 507 North Florida Avenue, Tampa, FL, at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pete's name to The Ronald McDonald House of Tampa Bay. Arrangements by Blount & Curry MacDill, (813) 876-2421.

I was lucky enough to have met Pete and Kristy through coaching Cole in Soccer. What a spectacular family! I remember Pete for being honest and true to his thoughts and his family. In fact, i also remember Cole for being a wonderful, strong young man which reminded me of Pete..I wish Kristy, Cole and Luke strength and peace during this tough time. I'm sorry i could not be there in person at the celebration of life...Rest in Peace Pete...
