Peg Moran

Dear family of Peg,
I was lucky enough to know Peg for many years as a member of the Mystic and Noank Library writing group. She was a skilled and diligent writer who often took time to look up in a dictionary the particular word we were writing about that day. She wanted us to know all the nuances of the word. She was warm and friendly and created many beautiful flower arrangements that graced the library front desk. I was excited about her latest project with Christmas bulbs and will...

My heart goes out to John and Peg's granddaughters and to Tom Moran and Peg's nieces. Peg shared her considerable knowledge and skills with others. She provided encouragement to the many women with whom she worked as well as the residents of her community. She will be remembered for her enthusiasm, her diligence, and
her commitment to sustainability.

I worked for Peg for two seasons in High School. She was a wonderful woman and I could not have asked for a better person to work for in my first job. She was charismatic and a friend. I always looked forward to spending mornings with her in the gardens and our conversations on biological plant structures. She had much passion for her flowers and chickens! My son worked for Peg a few years ago helping her prepare her beds for the glorious blossoms she cultivated. Peg was patient with Jon, teaching him about the flowers he was helping her tend. Often when I would pick Jon up from work Peg would greet me with a bouquet, quipping that the chauffeur must be paid too. We were fortunate to have the flower lady in our midst; she will be missed at the farmers' markets, the library and all of the places she shared her passions. Gail Turgeon
