Parks - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, February 8, 2014, at St. Louis Chapel in Parks, for Perry James Pierre, Sr., 55, who passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Louis Chapel from 9:00 am until 10:45 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am on Saturday.
Father Donovan Labbe will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Reading the scriptures for the service will be Megean and Kennedy Pierre. Gift bearers will be Rayne and Megean Pierre.
Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Mr. Pierre honorably served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a long time employee of Schlumberger and was known as a ?jack of all trades? by many. He enjoyed fishing, checking the stock market and music. He loved being with his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Perry "P.J." Pierre, Jr.; his daughters, Rayne Marie Pierre, Megean Gabriel Pierre, Kennedy Jané Pierre, Tiya Ayanna Pierre; his companion, Sandra Gray; his brother, John Edward Pierre (Gretta); his sisters, Mary Louise Jacob and Vickie Pierre Joseph (Melvin); his sister in law, Florina Pierre; 9 grandchildren; 1st wife, Katie Wolfe Pierre; 2nd wife, Donnica Brown Pierre and a host of family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harry Pierre, Jr.; his mother, Melonie Provost Pierre; his maternal grandparents, Murphy and Leonie Benjamin Provost; paternal grandparents, Harry, Sr. and Anita Burke Pierre; his brother, Ricky Noel Pierre, Sr.; infant twin sons; and a nephew, Othello Pierre.
Pallbearers will be Willy LeBlanc, Herman Verdin, Sr., Kevin Johnson, Sr., Melvin M. Joseph, Preston McGee and Cornel Mouton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Perry "P.J." Pierre, Jr., Melvin J. Joseph and Ricky Pierre, Jr.
Pellerin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
